Biocidal Occupational and Environmental Health Association

Climate change, environmental pollution, loss of biodiversity, water and food insecurity, and the widespread and uncontrolled use of pesticides are increasing environmental risks that directly affect not only ecosystems but also human and animal health. Rising temperatures, droughts, floods, wildfires, and other extreme weather events are placing increasing pressures on food systems, water resources, habitats, and health. Therefore, the protection of a healthy environment is one of the fundamental prerequisites for healthy societies.

With this philosophy, the Biocidal Occupational and Environmental Health Association is an environmental and health association that does not view the environment and environmental health as separate from human, animal, and ecosystem health; it is based on the One Health approach.

Our association carries out work in the following areas: combating climate change and adapting to it; reducing environmental risks; monitoring the effects of pesticides on human and environmental health; protecting biodiversity; supporting safe and sustainable food systems; developing healthy living and working environments; and strengthening the public’s access to scientific information on environmental health.
